![]() ![]() He had a thing for blades made from precious metals I guess. The legendary sword carelessly thrown on the floor, and he himself carried a gold knife. I finally found him living in a small hamlet as its mayor. So I tried hunting him down in adventure mode. Legends only told us that he succeeded, but not what happened to him afterwards. Some centuries later a human peasant decided to claim the sword for himself, so he traveled to the demon's fortress with his party and took the sword by force, killing quite a few gobblins. The demon then immediately slayed the dorf (presumably he took offense at the name "justice") and keep the sword. It was created very early during the world's history by a dorf, who offered it to the demon master of the only gobbo civ in the game. I once found an silver sword called "The Braid of Justice". Reading through Legends about artifact occasionally you'll come across some real gems. Right now most of the stuff are buckets and gloves and socks lol. Honestly the feature would be much more valuable to players if artifacts are narrowed down to some useful stuff like armors, weapons, etc.or if they possess magical powers. This adds a *lot* more !FUN! to the game. I play with a house rule that all entrances to the fortress must be doors. However, I must admit that there is one artifact that I'm always hoping for: doors. For me, the point of the game is the story and artifacts are part of that story. You can defeat X hundred goblin invasions without even leaving the comfort of your hole in the ground. In fact there is *nothing* in this game that is particularly useful - including candy weapons. The artifact, as a game power up, is basically worthless anyway. Then they should wait in suspense to see what is made. The rest of the fortress *should* come to a halt to gather the resources to build the artifact. The creation of an artifact is something to be celebrated. If I was playing the game and the only thing I was doing was building stuff, then I think I would prefer to play a different game. My goal is to have an interesting time in the world of the dwarfs. I can understand your feeling, but I think I probably play in a very different way than you.
